Happy Saturday

We have finally had a break in bad weather so my brother and SIL were able to get out with the baby. I just love Carsyn Time! She is so precious....I can't wait to spoil her rotten! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera today so I don't have any pictures. She was so cute in her UK attire.

I also want to wish my MIL & FIL a very Happy 40th Anniversary.

Their marriage is such a wonderful example of how two people should enjoy one another. I hope to someday celebrate 40 happy years with my husband and still be able to call him my best friend.

Weddings

I absolutely LOVE weddings. At one time, I actually thought about becoming a wedding planner. Unfortunately, in Eastern Kentucky, healthcare is more lucrative than the wedding planning business.....and after watching a few episodes of Bridezillas, I am not sure I could handle the job anyway. Right now, I am reading Vision in White by Nora Roberts (The Bride Quartet-Book 1).

The books are about a group of life long friends who start a wedding planning business. I just love this book and can't wait to start on the next three.

I am completely obsessed with the wedding details for Kate Middleton and Prince William. I am dying to see what type of dress she chooses.

My favorite part of Sundays is watching My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. I love this show! He is so amazingly creative.....I cry every time he reveals the reception site to the couple. He really gives each bride a fairytale day. I also love watching Say Yes to the Dress. I am actually watching it right now while I am snowed in...AGAIN! The dress is always what I look forward to seeing most at weddings. I also love seeing beautiful, fresh flowers. While bundled up on the couch today, I have been looking at gorgeous dresses at http://www.theknot.com/ . I have posted a few of my favorite pics below...all photos can be found at http://www.theknot.com/.

Elie Saab for Pronovias

I love the lace detail in both of the gowns. The dresses are timeless.

I love the way these dresses fit the body. The silhouette is just gorgeous.

I could go on for days about the beauty of Jim Hjelm gowns. They are so classy and
sophisticated, yet simple and elegant.

St. Pucchi
I love the drama of St. Pucchi gowns. A bride will never go unnoticed while wearing St. Pucchi.

Stephen Yearick
The ultimate fairytale gown!

I have also posted some pics of my favorite flower combinations. Words cannot express how much I love fresh flowers. There is nothing more beautiful and romantic than a bride surrounded by fresh blooms. These pictures can all be found at http://www.theknot.com/.

I have just loved looking at new wedding trends. It makes me miss my own wedding day....one of the happiest days of my life.

Strange Addictions

1. JERSEY SHORE

I classify my obsession with the Jersey Shore as a very strange addiction. I am actually embarassed to tell the people at work how much I truly love the show. I just can't help myself!

2. THE SNOOZE BUTTON

If you ask my husband what he hates the most about me, he will always tell you how my obsession with the snooze button irritates the life out of him. My alarm clock is very loud because nothing less than a train horn can wake me from my sleep. I set the alarm for at least 1 hour before I have to get up, then proceed to repeatedly hit the snooze button until I actually HAVE to get up. Every morning, Robby screams, "If you hit the snooze one more time, then I am going to throw your alarm clock against the wall. Get out of the ----- bed!" That's how we start everyday!

Grateful for Monday

Today, I am most grateful for.....LAUGHTER.

I always dread Mondays at work, but I am so grateful for my crazy co-workers. I have laughed so hard today. I just love the people I work with. I really don't know how I would get through Mondays without them. Do you ever notice people who never smile or laugh? How do they survive this world?

Is anyone watching The Bachelor? After week 2, my favorites are Emily, Jackie, and Britt. Do you have a favorite?

Sunday....Please Don't End!

Today has been a long, lazy day...but I wish it could last forever as I know what comes tomorrow.......MONDAY. I am very grateful to have a job and work with people I truly love, but I always dread starting the week. I often wonder if SAHMs realize their tremendous good fortune. You are the only women in the world I envy.

What is Wrong With This World?

It has been a very disturbing and tragic week....to say the least. I was first horrified to learn of another school shooting, which occurred in Omaha, Nebraska, resulting in the death of an Assistant Principal. I have posted a link to the story here. How can a child be so emotionally wounded that he would feel the desire or need to hurt another human being and then take his own life? It seems as though the world is becoming more and more desensitized to reality. I don't know if people really understand the ultimate ramifications of their actions.

I was again stunned today as I witnessed the footage of the tragic shooting of an Arizona Congresswoman, which resulted in the death of six others. Representative Giffords is in critical condition after receiving a gunshot wound to the head. I have posted a link to the story here. The gunman has been apprehended, but again I have to ask why would he do something so terrible? I definitely do not agree with some politicians' views, but no one should ever be harmed for supporting something he or she believes in. Why do the actions of some people have to be so extreme and damaging? Even in my own job as a nurse practitioner, I witness people display such anger and desperation. I often feel afraid to go to work. People should NOT have to be afraid to live.

Snow Again!!!!!!!!!

It is snowing again!!!!!!! I really don't know if I can stand to see one more flake. I am so longing for visions of spring and dreaming of a beach vacation with toes in the sand and lime daiquiri in hand! This year, we are attempting to do two vacations: our annual Caribbean anniversary trip and a family beach vacation. For the family trip, we are considering Charleston, Hilton Head, Destin, or the Outer Banks. We are definitely open for suggestions....so if anyone has visited the aforementioned destinations, then please share your likes or dislikes. We did spend a few days in Hilton Head last year and we loved it, but it was a little crowded.

We are also having a difficult time choosing a Caribbean island as we like to visit a different place each year. I don't know why we have so much trouble deciding each year as I am sure we could never be disappointed with any beach getaway. The short list for this year includes: Aruba, British Virgin Islands, Antigua, St. Lucia, or St. Barts. Again, if anyone has visited the previously mentioned destinations, then please share details and help us make a decision. I am really loving this resort in BVI and this resort in St. Lucia. This St. Lucia resort also looks gorgeous. However, I am sure I won't love any of the prices. I really need a raise or a lottery win. Oh well...I guess I will just stare out my window, gaze at the snow and dream........
