Wednesdays are for Weddings!

Marriage/Divorce

By now, I am sure everyone is well aware of my love for weddings, but I also love being married. All too often, people become so excited/obsessed with planning the perfect wedding, they forget about about the days following the honeymoon. As I was searching for inspiration for my weekly wedding post, I stumbled across an article here . Take time to read the article as it is very interesting and honestly.....SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME! The survey findings, published by Reuters, suggest possible reasons as to why your mate may potentially decide to run in the opposite direction. Here is a summary of the top 10 list published by Reuters:

1. "Weight gain/lack of exercise"
2. "Money and spend thriftiness"
3. "Anti-social working hours"
4. "Hygiene issues (personal cleanliness)"
5. "In-laws/extended family-too much/too little"
6. "Lack of romance"
7. "Alcohol-drinking too much"
8. "Snoring and anti-social bedtime habits"
9. "Lapsed fashion-same old underwear/clothes"
10. "Bathroom habits"

So.....do these survey findings scare you? Honestly, I could check yes to at least 6 out of 10! I am just praying my husband doesn't stumble across this article, because he will definitely have the research findings to support his decision to run!

Bridesmaid Dresses

Christy at Life as a New Mrs.-Again did a Wednesdays are for Weddings post today, featuring bridesmaid dresses that can be worn again after the wedding. You can view her post here . I loved the dresses she featured and thought I would post some of my favorites too. My favorite clothing store in the world is Ann Taylor. I should really buy stock in the company as a large part of my paycheck boosts Ann Taylor's profits each month! Most of the Ann Taylor bridesmaid dresses could easily be worn at other events after the wedding.

I also LOVE J. Crew bridesmaid gowns......

Please, post a comment with a link to your favorite

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Things You've Learned About Relationships

1. Learn to give and receive apologies.
Relationships are very difficult and people inevitably disappoint one another. I have learned the importance of saying I'm sorry when I'm guilty and have realized the signifance of forgiving my husband when he makes a mistake.

2. Remember the Golden Rule.
Throughout life, in any type of relationship, the Golden Rule offers the best advice......Treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect everyone and demand respect for yourself.

Weekend Ramblings and Living in Guilt

We finally completed our taxes yesterday after a 3 hour session with the accountant. Unfortunately, when I reviewed everything this morning I realized we had made a deduction which should not have been listed. Therefore, I guess I will be making yet another appointment in the morning to re-do the taxes. Why can't life ever be easy?

Yesterday did turn out to be a good day. We enjoyed a much needed visit from the brother, SIL, and Carsyn!

Carsyn and Robby
This photo was actually from a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot my camera yesterday.
I love this picture because she was just staring at Robby (which he loves)!

It rained all day yesterday, but the weather was warm...I think 60 degrees at 11 pm last night. Imagine our surprise when we woke up with an inch of snow! How can that even happen! Please.....Winter GO AWAY!
Needless to say, I have been completely worthless today. The only time I have been off the couch was to bathe myself at about 6 pm. I know....it's pathetic.

I am also feeling pretty guilty right now. All day, I have been dreading going back to work tomorrow. For the past 2 weeks, I have complained almost daily about being tired and staying late at work. I have been exhausted, but I am so fortunate to have a job....a very good job. Right now, a new show Secret Millionaire is on TV. The show began at 8 pm and I started crying at about 8:05. The show has featured two 80+ year old women living in Knoxville, TN, who started cooking for the homeless or those in need over 20 years ago. They serve over 2000 meals per week in the Love Kitchen. After seeing all those people who have a warm meal because two women chose to give them hope, I am overcome with guilt for complaining about a job that so many others would be so grateful to have. Those exceptional women have changed the lives of so many because their hearts are where they should be, embracing God's will.

Wednesdays are for Weddings!

The Short Dress....

As I search for wedding ideas each week, I have noticed a growing trend for the short dress. I absolutely LOVE some of the designs.

Marchesa

Liancarlo

Amsale Presents Little White Dress

Marchesa

Vera Wang

I usually favor very traditional wedding gowns, but I am starting to see the appeal of different . I especially love the concept of wearing the short dress for a destination wedding.

What do you think of the short dress as bridal gown?

Sprinkle

Today, I attended a "Sprinkle" for my friend, Cydni, who is expecting her second child. We had a wonderful day........I just love shower food!

Lola made Cydni one of the cutest gifts I have ever seen......a hairbow holder!

She also received some of the cutest outfits ever!

We also had live entertainment. Anna's son Talan showed us some of his Michael Jackson dance moves! He was too cute! The evening was so enjoyable and Anna and Courtney were great hostesses.

The Royal Wedding

One of my friends recently said to me, "Are you excited about the upcoming wedding?" You think? I absolutely cannot wait to see the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate. I am sooooo excited, but a little worried at the same time. Kate is extremely beautiful, but I perceive her as modern and very high fashion. I admire those attributes in most instances, but I so want to see a traditional Princess walk down the aisle. I want to witness a Royal Wedding reminiscent of Grace Kelly, embracing class, beauty and elegance. I also wonder if there are certain rules, which apply to the modesty of the gown. Will she even be allowed to wear a sleeveless or strapless gown? What do you think she will wear?

I could see her in something like this:

Monique Lhuillier

I would love to see her in something like this:

Carolina Herrera

Or this (please add royal crown and veil):

Angel Rivera

Angel Rivera

But, I predict we will see her in something like this:

Priscilla of Boston

Or something similar to this, but with longer sleeves and massive cathedral train (and I do predict Bruce Oldfield to be the designer of Kate's wedding gown):

Bruce Oldfield

What do you think Kate will wear?
Please, post a comment with your predictions!
