Show Us Your Life--Beauty Secrets

Show Us Your Life: Beauty Secrets

My Favorite Products

1. I love MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation. I also use MAC Prep and Prime Skin as a base. My skin is sooooo oily and the powder foundation works better than any other product I have found to control the dreadful shine.

2. I don't really feel comfortable with blush so I always use a bronzing powder.

Lancome Star Bronzer Poudre Soleil

3. The one product I really don't think I could ever live without......Mascara......and no mascara is better than Lancome.

Lancome Hypnose Drama

4. I can use any type of cleanser to remove my makeup, but I never go to bed without Retin-A. I am so trying to stop the aging process........but nothing really seems to help.

5. I always sing the praises of La Mer Eye Concentrate. I know I have discussed this product in at least 10 different blog posts, but I LOVE IT! I have tried other cheaper products, but nothing really compares. It is soooo worth the ridiculous price.

6. I apply Aquaphor to my lips every night to keep them soft. I also use Aquaphor on my heels. It is a great product. I often recommend this product to patients as a first line treatment for Eczema.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

7. I love Nivea Smooth Sensation. It makes my skin feel so soft, but it is light and non-greasy.

8. I love Pureology hair products. They are so clean and natural.

SHOW US YOUR LIFE: MASTER BEDROOM

I am participating in Show Us Your Life at Kelly's Korner.

Show Us Your Life: Master Bedroom

I have to admit, my bedroom is a little boring and probably looks like a suite suitable for a very old couple, but I have very traditional, old fashioned taste....I can't help it! I do love our bed. It is the most comfortable bed in the world. I use a very thick featherbed on top of the mattress and it feels like I am sleeping on a cloud.....it's a little piece of Heaven.

The very comfy bed

I really need to add something to the left wall, but can't decide on anything I like.

Master Bath

I need to add some pictures to the right wall...still looking...

I missed last week's Show Us Your Life-Living Room...so I will add those photos this week. My living room is probably my least favorite room of the house. It just seems as though nothing every looks quite right.

Show Us Your Life--Teacher's Gifts

I am participating in Show Us Your Life--Teacher's Gifts at Kelly's Korner.

I am not a teacher and I don't have to buy teacher gifts because I don't have children, but my mother was a teacher so I do have some background on this subject area. When buying gifts for teachers, you have to be aware that he/she will probably be receiving many, many gifts so you don't want to buy something he/she will ultimately have to sit on a shelf, put in a closet, or eventually sell at a yard sale. You also want the gift to be something that will show your gratitude while also reminding the teacher of your child. Whenever I have difficulty finding the perfect gift, I always look to the Red Envelope at http://www.redenvelope.com/.

This garden tote can be monogrammed with the teacher's name. I would also add flower bulbs to the gift so the teacher could plant them at her home and all always remember your child when the flowers bloom each year.

I also love this small butterly box, which contains a butterfly garden seed packet. The teacher could plant the seeds at her home. I would also add a thank-you note to the gift, expressing gratitude to the teacher for helping to transform your child into the person he or she is meant to be.

Monogrammed spa slippers along with a Spa Gift Card for a massage, facial, pedicure, or manicure would make a nice teacher gift.

The personalized golfer's cooler bag and monogrammed golf balls make a nice gift for the male teacher if he is a golfer!

The gifts featured on this page are all available for purchase at http://www.redenvelope.com/.
