Grateful for Monday

I am so happy this man......

chose this girl!!!!

However, after watching After the Final Rose, I am little concerned about their future. He seems to be so in love with her, but she seemed a bit disconnected tonight. I also wonder if he ever met her parents. I think it is odd that her parents were never mentioned on the show and I also find it odd that the Hendrick family name was never mentioned. What do you think?

.......Why I am so involved in this? I feel like I know them and will be so disappointed if they don't get married.

GRATEFUL FOR MONDAY

Today, I am grateful Monday is almost over. It has definitely been a day I can't wait to forget.....

I did have an enjoyable Super Bowl Sunday yesterday, watching the game in Dad's new man room and getting to see my brother, SIL, and Carsyn---she was so cute....just laughed and smiled all day. She also seems to love football. She never takes her eyes away from a game. I am actually a Colts fan, but since they didn't make it to the Super Bowl, I was cheering for the Packers.......so I am glad they won!

I am also grateful to see The Bachelor will be filmed in Anguilla next week. My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Cap Juluca in Anguilla and no other trip has ever compared. It is simply the most beautiful place I have ever experienced. I hope we get to go back someday.......very soon!

Grateful for Monday

Today, I am grateful for a great weekend and an enduring friendship. We went out Saturday night to celebrate my friend Cydni's birthday and we had a wonderful time. It was so nice to get out of the house and just relax with friends. Today is actually Cydni's birthday.......so Happy Birthday Cydni! I hope you have had a great day. I have known her for over 30 years...can that even be possible? It seems as though I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't know her and I am extremely grateful to have a friendship that has endured for so many years.

One Thing I Am NOT Grateful for:

Ashley H. from The Bachelor

Brad, I mean really, what are you thinking? We were so close....I thought you were sending her home tonight. I can't take anymore. She is sucking the life out of me!

Grateful for Monday

Today I am grateful for friendship.

Last night, we met for our monthly BUNCO NIGHT and had a wonderful time. However, I am not sure why we refer to our monthly gatherings as Bunco Night as we no longer play the game. Basically, we meet for dinner and exchange gifts. Does it really get any better than that? We always have such a great time just talking and laughing. I am so grateful to have such hilarious friends. I hope they know how much I adore each of them.

On Mondays, I am always grateful for The Bachelor. Brad, if you don't pick Emily, then you are just a FOOL! I  LOVE her! However, if it doesn't work out with Brad, I am sure she will have no trouble finding another great guy. I could soooo see her with Jake Gyllenhaal....I don't know why exactly, but I think they would be a perfect fit. Maybe she reminds me of Reese ........and I always loved Jake and Reese as a couple.

What do you think? Wouldn't they look great together?

Grateful for Monday

Today, I am most grateful for.....LAUGHTER.

I always dread Mondays at work, but I am so grateful for my crazy co-workers. I have laughed so hard today. I just love the people I work with. I really don't know how I would get through Mondays without them. Do you ever notice people who never smile or laugh? How do they survive this world?

Is anyone watching The Bachelor? After week 2, my favorites are Emily, Jackie, and Britt. Do you have a favorite?

Grateful for Monday

Welcome 2011!

I am so grateful for a new year, filled with new beginnings. Unfortunately, I have already failed at 2 of my New Year's resolutions and I am only into day 3 of the year. I have promised myself to start exercising in the morning and I am really going to try to blog everyday.....it is just sooooo difficult to write about my life when it is soooo boring. Basically, all I do is work, eat, sleep...then repeat. What can I really say about that?

I did delete my facebook, which was one of my resolutions. I have to admit I had some withdrawal symptoms at first, but now I feel liberated!

I am looking forward to great things in the new year. I really believe the recession will come to an end in 2011. I am also excited to learn who the next presidential candidates will be. A few of my hopeful Republican candidates would include Governor Haley Barbour, Mitt Romney, and possibly Sarah Palin. I am well aware how the press depicts Sarah Palin, but I am not convinced. I can't help but see her as a strong, confident, intelligent woman who unequivocally provokes strong emotions from her enemies as well as her allies. If she is as stupid as the press portrays her to be, then why is everyone so interested in every move she makes?

........Can't wait to see what 2011 has to offer........HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Grateful for Monday

We have had a wonderful, but exhausting Christmas holiday. I am so grateful for my family and have enjoyed the opportunity to see everyone. Robby and I spent the night at Mom and Dad's on Christmas Eve, along with my brother, SIL, and niece. It was so exciting to see Carsyn, my niece, on Christmas morning. She is only 3 months old, but she acted so happy to see her new gifts. It was so funny. I have to post a couple of pictures....

She is just so cute. I love to see her laugh! She really made this Christmas wonderful.

Now, I must get motivated to take down my Christmas decorations. I just don't know if I can do it. I have absolutely no desire to even begin the process.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

What A Difference A Year Makes

December 19, 2009....the day my childhood home burned.

December 19, 2010.....visiting Mom and Dad in their new home. We are so grateful they finished the house before Christmas.......

.......and so grateful we still have our parents this Christmas.

Robby also celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday! Unfortunately, it wasn't much of a celebration because he had to work most of the day. There should be a law against working on your birthday.

I am also grateful for lots of Carsyn time over the weekend. I helped Mom and Dad babysit on Saturday while my brother and SIL went to a Christmas party. She was sooooo good. I just love her!

Dad and Carsyn

I am also thrilled with the news of my friend's engagement. Congratulations Vandi! I am so happy for you......and can't wait to hear about wedding plans!

I am also praying for so many families experiencing broken hearts over this past weekend. Please say a prayer for all those experiencing the loss of a loved one.

GRATEFUL FOR MONDAY

I am very grateful for a great weekend. Saturday, we drove to visit my brother, SIL, and little Carsyn. I just love my Carsyn Time. She is sooooo cute!

Shane and Carsyn

Carsyn was wearing a little pink UK outfit.....too bad the CATS didn't do too well on Saturday!

Robby loved Carsyn's new rug. It is so soft!

Yesterday, I finally had time to start decorating for Fall. I went on a search for mums and thought I would have a nervous breakdown. I went to Wal-mart and loaded a flat cart with too many mums....they just kept falling over into the floor. I asked the lady in the garden section if she would check me out and she said. "No. I can't check you out. We don't have enough people working today". What? Why couldn't she check me out? I then had to drive this huge mum-filled cart throughout the Wal-mart, hitting everything in my path and seeing everyone I know (Cydni and Vandi--I know you are probably still laughing over this!). I thought I would scream or pull someone's hair out, but I finally got out of the store with all my mums!

I am really not sure the mums were worth the hassle!

I didn't get to finish this display because it started raining, but I will post more pictures after I finish later this week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

GRATEFUL FOR MONDAY

Yesterday was one of the greatest days of my life! I am so grateful to my brother and SIL for giving our family the most wonderful gift ever.....my precious niece, Carsyn. She is absolutely gorgeous. I have tons of pictures, but I will let my SIL have the honor of posting her first pics later this week. You can check her blog at http://southern-blonde.blogspot.com/ . My SIL, Jennifer, is doing well. She looked great as soon as they brought her out of recovery yesterday. No one would have guessed she had just delivered a wonderful baby girl by C-section. My brother has been a nervous mess, but I have never seen him look happier. He is so proud of his new baby girl. The whole family, including myself, is crazy over her! Shane and Jennifer will probably have to start turning off their lights and pretend not to be home so we won't aggravate them. I hope they understand, we just love her!

GRATEFUL FOR MONDAY

The Labor Day Weekend weather has been gorgeous in Kentucky and I could not be more grateful. I went for my evening walk/run a while ago and all the neighbors were outside. It simply feels too nice to stay inside!

Unfortunately, we didn't have time for the lake this weekend, but we had a wonderful time on Saturday, watching the UK vs. UL game at my brother's house. Of course UK beat the dirty birds! My SIL went all out for game day...she even had blue icing for the brownies. The food was great and we had such a nice time. Yesterday, we just relaxed for most of the day. We did make a visit to check on the progress of Mom & Dad's new home. They actually have paint on the walls now and the outside is almost finished. We are still praying for a move in date before Halloween.

I am definitely dreading going back to work tomorrow after such a nice weekend, but I am still grateful to have a job.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Holiday!

Grateful for Monday

First, let me apologize for neglecting my blog, but life has just been overwhelming for the past few weeks. I have worked at least an hour overtime almost every work day for the past few weeks. The really bad part is that I do not get paid for overtime and the worst part is that I feel exhausted! However, I am still just grateful to have a job.......life could be much worse.

I am also grateful for the wonderful baby shower I attended this weekend. The shower was for my sister-in-law Jennifer and my niece-to-be. I am getting so anxious! The shower was so cute and the food was amazing. I could have eaten three plates of food, but I was afraid people would talk so I just made one trip to the food table. I really regret that decision....

I am posting a few pictures of the shower, but I know Jennifer will have some better pictures posted soon on her blog at http://southern-blonde.blogspot.com/ .

Jennifer opening the baby's first fur coat. The gift was from her grandmother and it was so beautiful. I almost cried as she opened the gift. I can't wait to see my niece in all her new clothes.

I am also grateful to see drywall at Mom & Dad's new home. I am posting pics below to show an update of the progress.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday! I, personally, am praying for a much better Tuesday!

GRATEFUL FOR MONDAY

Today, I am grateful monday is almost over. This has been one of the worst work days I have ever experienced and I have encountered some of the meanest people known to exist on this planet. I keep telling myself how lucky I am just to have a job. For some reason, I have found the need to remind myself repeatedly today....maybe it will even become believable by tomorrow.

I am also grateful for the continued progress on Mom and Dad's new home. Hopefully, they will be able to move in before Halloween or at least Thanksgiving. After terrible work days like today, I am very blessed to have a home, where I can feel comfortable and relax. I pray that Mom and Dad will be able to feel that same comfort again...very soon!

I am also grateful for a very nice weekend. On Saturday, we enjoyed a wonderful 1st birthday for our friends' (Jason and Dasheka) son Cayden. He is so cute!

                                            Cayden

We spent Saturday night at the boat with the family. We had a great time, but I hope we didn't keep our boating neighbors up all night with our beautiful singing!

On Sunday, Robby and I went to my Mom and Dad's pool to swim with my little cousins. The kids had a wonderful time, but we were exhausted!

                                                                            Emily

                                                                           Hunter

Later on Sunday, we helped Colt celebrate his 2nd birthday. Colt is my friend Cydni's (Cydni and Cavanaugh) little boy and he is just adorable. I wanted to take pictures at the party, but my camera battery died earlier on sunday. I was able to borrow one picture from my friend Brooke's facebook...Thanks Brooke!

I love this pic of Colt! He had just devoured his cupcake, which was frosted with red icing. Too cute!

We are so grateful that our friends and family allow me and Robby to be a part of their childrens' lives. It makes not having kids of our own much easier to endure. We love them all--they are just precious!

Grateful for Monday

Today, I am grateful to have a wonderful father who still takes care of me. He came over to the house this evening to help hang my bathroom curtains. I didn't get home from work until after 8 p.m., so we had a late start. It was after 9:30 by the time we finished, then he had over an hour long drive to make it back to his temporary home. The worst part is that he will probably have to wake up around 3:30 a.m. to make it to work on time in the morning. I hope he knows how grateful I am.

The finished product. I bought the curtains from Smith and Noble. I know the fabric is an odd choice for the bathroom, but.......

....The curtains match my bedspread, which was also purchased at Smith and Noble.

I am also grateful to see progress on my Mom & Dad's new home. I keep praying they will get to move in by Halloween. They are starting to brick this week. I hope the weather cooperates!

I am also grateful for a wonderful weekend. I attended my sister-in-law's first baby shower, which was hosted by one of my brother's co-workers--Bonnie. The shower was so pretty and the food was delicious!

A very cute idea: Bonnie's daughter had painted pink polka dots onto the
                                                        glasses. They were adorable!

Jennifer received so many beautiful things for the baby. I can't wait to see my little niece in all her new clothes. She is going to be gorgeous!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL WEEK!

Grateful for Monday

Tonight, I am grateful to be home after a very long and stressful day at work. I had to stay an hour late tonight and kept thinking I was never going to see my home or my husband again. Ten hour work days can be exhausting. I keep telling myself I am lucky to have a job. I know so many people, in this country, would give anything to have the opportunity to go to work everday. Sometimes, it is very easy to forget how fortunate I truly am.

It is amazing how much better I feel as soon as I see my home after a long day at work. Somehow, all the tension evaporates from my body as soon as I step through the door. My heart breaks for my parents as they do not have a true home right now. After losing their home to fire at Christmas, they have lived in a temporary house while building a new home. I never knew building a home could be such a time-consuming obstacle, but I am very grateful the new house is now under roof. It won't be long until they know the comforts of home again.

I am also grateful for the relaxing weekend that just didn't last long enough. We stayed at the lake on saturday night and enjoyed a very peaceful evening.

The lake is always so relaxing.....And I love watching people put their boats into the water. I have never seen a boater with a frown on his/her face. They are always happy. Don't you wish you could spend everyday on the water?
